Who We Are
S. Thelen Construction LLC is a woman owned and operated construction company created in 2017.
Sarah started out graduating from Mid-Plains Community College in 2012 with an Associates in Building Construction. She immediately went to work under employers, from building decks to framing houses, before becoming a finish carpenter as a subcontractor.
After a few years under employment, Sarah built her own business from the ground up. She’s been in business for over 8 years, helping families in Nebraska and Iowa create their dream space!
One of Sarah’s priorities is to be on top of her education, always willing to continue learning. She makes sure to stay certified, along with keeping up with new techniques and regulations by going to classes and workshops.
The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) offers the only 3rd party assessment of installer skills and knowledge recognized by the Tile Industry. The CTI program rigorously tests expertise along with how knowledgeable the installers are about the best practices of tile installation. Not only has Sarah passed the CTI test, but so do the installers she chooses to work with.
Sarah is a Certified Tile Installer (CTI certificate #1848).
S. Thelen Construction LLC is registered, bonded, insured, and licensed in Nebraska.
In 2025, she completed the Artisan Training Mosaic Class. Only sixteen people in total across the nation were accepted, and Sarah was one of the six women who attended.
Sarah is a member of both the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and the Greater Omaha Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
Sarah loves making fun ideas reality by combining tile and woodworking, both of which take a lot of finesse.
S. Thelen Construction LLC only uses big box stores as a last resort. Sarah prides herself in working with locally owned businesses to source materials whenever she can.
