The Den
When you want to create a space where you can unwind from the day and just relax, you go to the den.
First Look
Laundry room, powder bath, den, and entry from the garage are all on this level of the house. The golden oak had to go!
Under Construction
During demo we notice some mildew growing behind the bookcases. We removed the drywall and found the concrete wall was not sealed properly and was creating moisture in the room. The mold and mildew was remediated, new spray foam insulation to seal and insulate the walls at the same time. The concrete floor was leveled, then a crack isolation membrane was installed to prevent substrate cracks transferring to the tile, before the tile install.
Finished Project
Birch cabinets, bookcases, shelves, and bench. Electric fireplace. Dimmable lighting. Doorway added to the laundry room area. New tile with epoxy grout. New trim and solid core doors.
